Systemic lupus in woman
Written by oa on January 23, 2012 – 5:09 pm -Lung and pleura inflammation can cause pleuritis, pleural effusion, lupus pneumonitis, chronic diffuse interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary emboli, pulmonary hemorrhage, and shrinking lung syndrome. Systemic lupus erythematosus is more common in women with West African ancestry who have emigrated from their home area, suggesting that there may be an environmental trigger as well as a genetic basis for their disease. The precise reason for the abnormal autoimmunity that causes lupus is not known.
If your brain is affected by lupus, you may experience headaches, dizziness, behavior changes, hallucinations, and even strokes or seizures. Treatments include aspirin and blood-thinning medications (anticoagulant; heparin or low molecular weight heparin – Lovenox). The rash may last for days or years and may recur.
