Hormonal changes in signs of menopause

Written by oa on January 25, 2012 – 7:40 pm -

As you get older, your ovaries gradually decrease production of estrogen and other hormones. These hormonal changes cause many of the undesirable signs of menopause, such as hot flashes and weight gain. When menopause occurs naturally, it tends to take place anywhere between the ages of 40 and 58, with an average age of 51. A woman’s body goes through various phases like puberty, menstruation, pregnancy, childbirth andmenopause.
Women can explore these links and discuss their findings with a trusted doctor to help discover the treatment path that best matches their needs and health history. Along with mood swings, anxiety can be a symptom of menopause. Other health risks associated with the loss of estrogen include increased risk for colon and ovarian cancer, periodontal (gum) disease, tooth loss, and cataract formation.

Systemic lupus in woman

Written by oa on January 23, 2012 – 5:09 pm -

Lung and pleura inflammation can cause pleuritis, pleural effusion, lupus pneumonitis, chronic diffuse interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary emboli, pulmonary hemorrhage, and shrinking lung syndrome. Systemic lupus erythematosus is more common in women with West African ancestry who have emigrated from their home area, suggesting that there may be an environmental trigger as well as a genetic basis for their disease. The precise reason for the abnormal autoimmunity that causes lupus is not known.
If your brain is affected by lupus, you may experience headaches, dizziness, behavior changes, hallucinations, and even strokes or seizures. Treatments include aspirin and blood-thinning medications (anticoagulant; heparin or low molecular weight heparin – Lovenox). The rash may last for days or years and may recur.

About signs of mono

Written by lu on January 11, 2012 – 11:43 pm -

Mononucleosis spreads by contact with moisture from the mouth and throat of a person who is infected with the virus. After three to five days, any combination of the more intense symptoms and signs of mono may become present, including: severe sore throat, fever, swollen glands in the neck, armpits and groin, nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, enlarged spleen, enlarged liver, swollen eyelids.
In addition to kissing; sharing drinking glasses, eating utensils, and toothbrushes, or touching anything that has been near the mouth of an infected person, may result in transmission of the disease.
Vigorous contact sports should be avoided in the illness and recovery phase to prevent rupture of the spleen.

First signs of teething

Written by lu on January 6, 2012 – 2:21 pm -

Some teeth may be more sensitive than others when they erupt. As signs of teething, sometimes a fluid-filled area similar to a “blood blister” may be seen over the erupting tooth.
The following is the general order of eruption of primary teeth: Central incisors: 6-12 months of age, Lateral incisors: 9-16 months of age, Canine teeth: 16-23 months of age, First molars: 13-19 months of age, Second molars: 22-24 months of age.
How do you know when your child is teething? First, he or she is somewhere between three months and a year old and doesn’t yet have teeth, right? There may be a runny nose, the mechanics of which escape me, but if you’ve ever eaten a hot chili, you know that your mouth floods with saliva, your eyes tear up and your nose starts to run.
