What is Hyperthyroidism?
Written by ma on October 24, 2011 – 9:08 am -Hyperthyroidism is a condition caused by the effects of too much thyroid hormone on tissues of the body. You may have no symptoms at all, but the most common symptoms of hyperthyroidism people experience are:
- nervousness, fatigue, trembling hands;
- heat intolerance;
- palpitations;
- insomnia;
- breathlessness;
- weight loss;
- light or absent menstrual periods;
- increased bowel movements.
Although there are several causes of hyperthyroidism, most of the symptoms patients experience are the same regardless of the cause. Having too much thyroid hormone can make a lot of things in your body speed up. Because the body’s metabolism is increased, patients often feel hotter than those around them and can slowly lose weight even though they may be eating more. Hyperthyroidism is easily treated. With treatment, you can lead a healthy life. Without treatment, hyperthyroidism can lead to serious heart problems, bone problems, and a dangerous condition called thyroid storm.

Living in Tiny Houses
Written by ma on October 15, 2011 – 5:58 pm -If you live in a tiny house it’s because you want less clutter, more free time, and a simpler, less demanding lifestyle. When you live in small houses you will be able to spend extra time, money, and resources on the things that matter the most to you. Small houses offer many benefits. Their low cost (most small models begin around $15,000) is a major draw for people who want the freedom that comes with not having to make monthly mortgage payments. Heating a small home is easy and inexpensive. You can have enough space if you don’t try to cram too much stuff into your small house; it will make it appear much cluttered. You have to decide what you really need. Living in a small home can also require some lifestyle changes. Instead of having 3 TVs, 2 computers, a VCR and a DVD, reduce all to one computer, and transfer your movies to a hard drive. A laptop with a TV tuner is even more energy efficient.

Signs of hypothyroidism
Written by sa on October 5, 2011 – 7:56 pm -Symptoms aren’t always obvious, and hypothyroidism may sometimes be mistaken for other diseases. Symptoms of hypothyroidism may include:
• low energy, constant tiredness
• depression
• dizziness
• weight gain, despite diminished appetite
• intolerance to cold
• inability to concentrate, memory lapses
• constipation
• slowed heart rate
Each individual patient may have any number of these symptoms, and they will vary with the severity of the thyroid hormone deficiency and the length of time the body has been deprived of the proper amount of hormone. Yellow or very dry skin are also symptoms of a thyroid problem which again give no indication unless you where a very competent doctor. The most common cause in the Unites States is autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto thyroiditis).

Get informed about ectopic pregnancies
Written by sa on October 5, 2011 – 1:27 pm -An ectopic pregnancy is an abnormal pregnancy that occurs outside the womb (uterus). Without treatment, the ectopic pregnancy symptoms will worsen over several days or weeks. They include:
• Severe pelvic pain
• Shoulder pain caused by blood from a ruptured ectopic pregnancy pressing on the diaphragm, the large muscle that separates the abdominal and chest cavities
• Faintness or dizziness caused by blood loss
• Nausea
• Vomiting
In a normal pregnancy, the level of the hCG hormone approximately doubles about every two days during the first 10 weeks. In an ectopic pregnancy, however, the rate of this increase is much slower. An hCG level that is lower than what would be expected for the stage of the pregnancy is one reason to suspect an ectopic pregnancy.
